Introduction

A private non-profit-making institution, the Dr. António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation, one of the cultural symbols of Oporto city and of the country, is renowned for its innovative ability, dynamism and constant search for new references.
Proofs of this activity are quite visible, from the vast and daring head office to the Paper Money Museum, a unique place in Portugal and in Europe, which possesses a true State collection. Further evidence is to be found in the intense cultural activity developed by the institution, which lays particular emphasis on congresses, temporary exhibitions, concerts and lectures.
Also worth mentioning is the Foundation link to teaching institutions, promoting cooperation and research initiatives. Briefly, the Dr. António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation has unparalleled conditions in the city, both owing to its situation and easy access and because it has modern and spacious premises, furnished with sophisticated audiovisual equipment.
Completing these facilities there is a restaurant with a hospitable atmosphere which, apart from serving meals to congress participants, is open to the public every day.
