Before registering, please read carefully the registration form [PS-56,7KB][PDF-13,2KB] instructions below. To register, print VECPAR'2000 Registration Form and MAIL or FAX the completed form to the meeting secretariat, together with full payment in Euros. In case of cancellation of registration, a written request for a refund must be received by the meeting secretariat no later than June 2, 2000. Refunds are subject to a 50 Euros processing fee. The registration fee includes the proceedings distributed during the meeting, lunches and coffee breaks daily, the evening reception (June 21), the conference banquet (June 23, Saint John's Eve) and a copy of the post-conference book. The tutorial fee includes attendance to one half-day tutorial, coffee-breaks and tutorial notes.
The student registration fee does not include the daily lunches, meeting dinner and post-conference book. Students are required to show valid ID cards at the registration desk, during the conference. Identification Please indicate full identification and address and do not forget to identify your paper code if you are author of an accepted paper. Telephone and fax should include country and city codes. 2. Conference and Tutorials In the form, please encircle your options; calculate the totals by column (in Euros) and the sum of totals in (A). Early registrations will be considered if received before April 28, 2000. The three tutorials, to be held in Tuesday, June 20 (the day before the conference) are the following:
tuesday Tutorial 1 (Full Day, 9:30-13:00, 15:00-18:30) Linear Algebra Algorithms and Software for Large Scientific Problems by Jack Dongarra (University of Tennessee and ORNL, USA), Iain Duff (CERFACS, France, and RAL, United Kingdom) and Danny Sorensen (Rice University, USA) Tutorial 2 (Half Day, 9:30-13:00) Benchmarking High Performance Computers: Fundamentals and Practice by Aad J. Van der Steen (Utrecht University, The Netherlands) Tutorial 3 (Half Day, 15:00-18:30) The Globus Grid Programming Toolkit by Ian Foster (Argonne National Lab. and the University of Chicago, USA) (Lunch arrangements in the tutorials day may be made in the morning) 3. Accommodation Please fill in this section of the form, only if you want to reserve accommodation. In the first table, encircle the hotel you choose, indicate the arrival and departure dates and calculate the number of nights. In the second table, put the number of rooms you need of each type, the calculated number of nights, the hotel rate accordingly to the following table and multiply to evaluate the totals (in Euros). Add totals and put in (B). Requests received are subject to space availability. All efforts will be made to confirm the accommodation/room type desired. Rates in the next table are in Euros, per room and per night, with breakfast and taxes included. The order is related with the increasing distance to the conference site (please see the city map).
4. Tours Please fill in this section only if you subscribe one or both tours. Indicate the number of persons, multiply by the corresponding price and put the result in field Totals (in Euros). Add the Totals and put the result in (C). This program, composed by two possible one-day tours (Minho Tour and Douro Tour), is being arranged specially for accompanying persons. The number of participants conditions the tours. In case of cancellation, the registration desk, during the conference, will process the reimbursements. If you are not interested, please leave this section blank. In the following description, rates are per person, for a minimum of 20 Participants per Bus. It includes Deluxe Air-Conditioning Motorcoach transportation, assistance of an English Speaking Guide, Entrance Fees in Monuments, Lunch whenever mentioned in the programme, Tips, Parks and Tolls.
tuesday MINHO TOUR - June 20, 2000 Price per Person: 57 Euros. 09h00 - Departure from Porto to visit the Northern Province of Portugal, Minho, one of the most beautiful and historical regions of the Portugal. First stop at Guimarães, the Nation's Birthplace, including a visit to the Ducal Palace and walking guided tour of the Historical Centre. Tour proceeds to Braga, the Archbishop's Town, visiting the Cathedral and Bom Jesus do Monte. Stop for lunch. On the afternoon visit to Viana do Castelo, the capital of Portuguese folklore, embroidery and filigree jewellery. Stroll at the "Old Town". Return to Porto. 22June thursday DOURO TOUR - June 22, 2000 Price per Person: 58 Euros. 09h00 - Departure from Porto to visit the Douro Valley, worldwide known as the region of the famous Porto Wine. First stop at Amarante with its outstanding ancient houses with beautiful wooden and wrought iron balconies. Proceeding to Vila Real-visit to the Mateus Manor House, a Portuguese must of the baroque aristocratic architecture (18th century). Stop for lunch. On the afternoon, drive along the Douro Valley passing through Pinhão and Régua surrounded by a splendid colourful landscape and famous vineyards. Return to Porto. 5. Payment Please add all the partial Totals (A)+(B)+(C) and put the result in the field Total Amount. This is your full payment due. If you choose Credit Card as payment method, please fill in the last form, including total amount in full (in English, please), the type and the number of the card, the expiry date and the signature of the Card Holder. |
