Data Management in Pervasive Grids

Abstract:
In this presentation, we give our vision of a Pervasive Grid: A grid dealing with uncertain resources, including light, mobile devices, using context-awareness for delivering the right information using the right infrastructure to final users. We focus on the data side of the problem, since it encompasses a number of problems related to such an environment, from data access, mobile query optimization, data placement and replication, to security, adaptation, ...
A use case in the Health Informatics field will be presented and will serve as a driving scenario for the talk.
